The printing company finished with our first set of blankets and sent us the samples. They assured me that no simplification of the artwork would be needed, but there was some miscommunication because they did end up reducing the colours to 10. It doesn’t really matter since I am still very pleased with the results.
Note: The second blanket has doors and windows that needs to be cut out and seamed.

Here is the first set of logo design for Gnomes Homes. The website is currently using 11 which is the one I prefer, so it wins by default! I have yet to show these to Sean or the rest of my design advisors.

I’ve started building the website for Gnomes Homes. Here’s a look at my process.
Clean

Colors

Minimalism – Lots of white space

I definitely wanted the website to look clean, but also to be playful and cartoony. Here is the final mockup. The tree was added to anchor the website – a floating gnome home does look a little odd.

As suggested by our Bootup Labs advisor Boris Mann, we have started a blog for the development of Gnomes Homes. I’ve started by importing posts from my art blog (as indicated by the jahzel.com labels on the artwork). Photographs of Sean’s garage with life size prototypes will come very soon.
